Dungeons and Dragons fans are worried after Paramount Pictures moves the release date for its upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie.
Is this the first sign that the studio is worried about how this new venture will perform? The answer is, maybe?!
Paramount’s new Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has had its release date pushed back by four weeks. The blockbuster movie will now be released on March 31st, swapping places with Scream 6, and keeping its distance from the release of Creed III but at the time of writing there has been no reason given for the delay.
It is safe to assume however that in order to give the DnD movie the chance it deserves to become a box office smash, the release date is being set deliberately apart from the chance of a diminished audience.
Hopefully, all it means is that fans have to wait just a little bit longer for the long-awaited Dungeons & Dragons movie to finally break cover. Originally the D&D movie was due for release back in July 2021 but that was moved thanks to another movie release. The movie was then delayed twice more after the world essentially shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, in fact, filming didn’t even get going until April 2021.
We here at Roll Britannia are super excited about watching our favourite game brought to the big screen in this live-action adventure, let’s hope the finished product is worth the wait…
